Pleas-ant. i John Carling returned to his home in Fillmore Tuesday after visiting in Milford for a few days at the home of his daughter, Mrs. L. G. Clay. i Mr. and Mrs. Max Gillins and children, Shirleen and Marylis, ac companied by Mrs. William Mor- i ris, spent Sunday in Beaver, visit- i ing relatives. I I Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Whittaker and Mrs. G. C. Cuddy were among those enjoying last week's Union I Pacific Old-Timers outing at Sun Valley, Idaho. Virginia Baxter, Maxine Alt-man Alt-man and Katharine Htendrickson left Sunday night for Salt Lake City, where they will again attend the University of Utah. 'Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Ryan left last Friday for Logan, accompanied accompani-ed by their daughter Virginia, Ennis Rogers and Marie Carlson, who resume .their work at the U. S. A. C. ! Swapp and young son Paul returned Saturday to their home in Kanab after a visit of three weeks at the home of Mrs. Swapp's parents, Mr. and Mrs. David S. Williams. i I John Clay left Thursday night for Logan to enter his third year at the U. S. A. C. Another student stu-dent from Milford attending that school is Marvin Bond, a 1940 I Milford high school graduate. I j Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Smith and i daughter, Mrs. Hal Norton, and j her baby daughter, last weekend week-end motored to Salt Lake City I where Mrs. Norton will remain I awhile before returning to her home in the east. I I L. D. McFadden, Union Pacific , b.rakeman, with Mrs. Mac, are ! leaving soon for Salt Lake City, where the McFaddens will make their future home. They have sold their home here to Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Trask. Mrs. J. M. Hughes and son Wallace returned home Sunday from Logan, where they took Mrs. Hughes' daughter Doris and son Stanley to attend the U. S. A. C. They were accompanied to Logan by Hughes Wdlliams;v who, with Stanley, will enter the college as freshmen this year. Mrs. Clarence Grimshaw was hostess to her bridge club and guests Tuesday night. At cards Mrs. Harold Cline was the winner of the high points prize, Mrs. Ray Mills the high hilnors prize and Mrs. Bob Price the consolation prize. Others present were Mrs. Faye Bradfield, Mrs. A. A. Mclri-tyre, Mclri-tyre, Mrs. Val Yepsen and Mrs. Ross Palmer. Mrs. Vern Shingleton entertained entertain-ed the Bridgediers club at her home last Friday night at an eight o'clock steak dinner. Those present pre-sent were Mrs. R. R. Kauert, Mrs. J. P. Holm, Mrs. William Morris, Mrs. Abe Fotheringham, Mrs. Fred Jefferson, Mrs. L. D. McFadden Mc-Fadden and Mrs. Kenneth Hollis. Bridge was played during the evening eve-ning with Mrs. Fotheringham, Mrs. - Jefferson, Mrs. McFadden and Mrs. Morris winning the prizes. I Mrs. R. O. Peak was hostess to 1 the Ladies Literary club on Satur-i Satur-i day, September 2b'th, at her home. 1 After delicious refreshments were 1 served by Mrs. Peak, the following follow-ing members contributed current articles and topics of interest for discussion: Mrs. M. H. Pool, Mrs. F. W. Gospill, Mrs. J.M.Williams Mrs. D. A. Baxter, Mrs. R. O. Peak, Mrs. J. C. Smith and Miss Gladys Gospill Mrs. C. W. Cates entertained the Saturday Afternoon Bridge club with Mrs. J. R. Murdock jr., Mrs. Sam Cline, Mrs. J. M. Williams, Wil-liams, Mrs. Val Yepsen, Mrs. J. E. Wilson, Mrs. Rudolph Nielsen and Mrs. William Cochrane being present. The high point prize was won by Mrs. Yepsen, high honors prize by Mrs. Nielsen and consolation conso-lation by Mrs. Murdock. The first social meeting of the season of the American Legion Auxiliary was held Monday night at the home of Mrs. Metta Wte's-ton, Wte's-ton, with Mrs. Weston, Mrs. Car-lie Car-lie Waddoups and Mrs. Maud Hearn acting as hostesses. Bridge was enjoyed during the evening with Mrs. Letha Smyth winning the high points prize, Mrs. Edith Grimshaw the high honors prize and Mrs. Jennie Bowen the consolation con-solation prize. |
