Show CHRISTIAN SCIENCE Doctrine of Atonement is the subject of the' Christian Science Lesson-Sermon for Sunday, October Oc-tober 19. Among the Scriptural references refer-ences are: "Wherewith shall I come before the Lord, and bow myself before the high God ? He hath shewed thee, Q man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require re-quire of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?" (Mic. 6: 6, 8). "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away." (Rev. 21: 4). The following excerpts are from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy, "Atonement is the exemplification exempli-fication of man's unity with God, whereby man1 reflects divine Truth, Life and Love. (p. 18: 1-3). "We acknowledge Jesus' atonement as the evidence of divine di-vine efficacious Love, unfolding man's unity with God through Christ Jesus the Way-shower, and we acknowledge that man is saved through Christ, through Truth, Life and Love as demonstrated through the Galilean Prophet in healing ihe sick and overcoming sin and death", (p. 497: 13-19). "He that touches the hem of Christ's robe, and masters his mortal beliefs, animality, and hate rejoices in the proof of healing in a sweet and certain sense that Hod is Love", (p. 569: 11-14). |
