Show d&s-is LOOKING BACKWARD Sv3 Items of interest taken from the -iwAla t)L- FU? of the Milford News of Fifteen years ago, this week An oasis in the desert was to be provided under the shade tree by the "Flat-iron building" by Bert Wynaug-ht. A stand was to be built there where root beer and hotdogs would be sold. Mrs. Sadie Jones was to be in charge. ' A very enjoyable affair had 'been a Lion's club banquet, the guests ibeing members of the cast who lent their services to help put over the Lions "Follies. Special mention men-tion was made of Bert Wynaught, as a beautiful Rush-in ballet dancer; Milton Pool as P 6 1 a Negri, C. A. Bailey in a Jewish portrayal, L. G. Clay as a gracious colonial dame, Sam Cline as the 'devout minister and learned savant, G. C. Delgardo as the blushing bride, Frank Farmer as the mother of the bride and L. R. Fournier as a Spanish dancer.. At a Scout meeting held in Milford Mil-ford the following boys had received re-ceived their tenderfoot tests and were awarded badges: Melvin Bowman, Bow-man, Albert Murdock, Farrell Peterson, Charles Clements, Richard Rich-ard White, Vivian Tait, Marion Bowman, Clyde Griffiths, Delmar Kirk, Kenneth Weston, Leon Jones, and Rex Lloyd. Miss Ethel Stanley, who had been', attending, school at Northhampton, North-hampton, Mass., was a guest at a reception given in honor of Mrs. Calvin Coolidge. Miss Stanley visited New York City, Washington, Washing-ton, D. C. and Chicago after her graduation from Clarke college on June 13. A cowd of young people had motored to Rock corral to enjoy a campfire dinner. They were Myrtle Oaborn, Ray Mills, Estelle Nebeker, Charles Glenn, Albena and Leonard Muir, and Melvin and Frances Stanley. Miss Thelma Tanner, formerly of Milford, had been awarded a diploma of graduation from the Los Angeles County General Hospital Hos-pital School 0f Nursing. |
