Murdock left Sunday .Tor a visit with her daughters and their families in the San Francisco bay area. Mrs. C. E. Leech returned last week from a visit with her grandmother, grand-mother, Mrs. V. M. Palmer, and other relatives and friends in southern California,. Word has been received in Mil-ford Mil-ford of the birth, November 20, of a daughter to Mrs. Alice Jones Al-fied Al-fied in San Diego, California. Mrs. Alfred is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Jones, who are visiting them at their home. Miss Jeannette Colborn left Sunday Sun-day for Salt Lake City, where she was to spend a few days with relatives rela-tives and friends enroute to Rapid City, South Dakota. There she will become the bride of First Lieutenant Lieuten-ant David E. Lewis of Milford, who has u post-combat assignment as instructor in navigation. Mrs. Hazel Tribole Nelson and young son Larry returned Saturday Satur-day from a visit at Fort Ord with her husband, Pfc. W. 0. Nelson, prior to his being shipped out, presumably pre-sumably for Pacific service. He ' is in the machine gun battalion of an infantry unit. While there, Mrs. Nelson saw John Moore Williams, Wil-liams, forme. attorney, who has been in tv.. ng at Camp Roberts. Ro-berts. Accompanying Mrs. Nelson Nel-son and Larry to California was the former's grandmother, Mrs. Janie Moore, who will spend the winter in Long Beach, following a visit with relatives and friends in Milford. Mrs. flattie Ashworth of Beaver Bea-ver is visiting at the home of her son, William Ashworth, and family. i j Mrs. Jane Dibble Farrer, wife of ! Kenneth C. Farrer, high school 1 principal and herself a member of j the teaching staff, was operated ! for appendicitis Saturday of last j week at the Milford hospital. The ! operation was performed in good time and Mrs. Farrer is reported to be doing exceptionally well. A delightful Thanksgiving dinner din-ner was enjoyed at the home of i Mrs. Claude Albrecht by Mr. and Mrs. Harold Baxter and family, ! Charles Baxter, Mr. and Mrs. D. j A. Baxter and Miss Virginia Bax- ' ter. Other out-of-town guests included in-cluded Sheldon Albrecht of Miners-ville Miners-ville and Mrs. Dixon Fothering-ham Fothering-ham of Beaver. The home of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Smithson was the scene of a wedding wed-ding with a military atmosphere Friday evening of last week when Mrs. Barbara Gratz of Bell, California, Cali-fornia, became the bride of Mrs. Smithson's brother, Staff Sergeant Donald L. Gustin, just returned from three years army service in the southwest Pacific. The ceremony cere-mony was performed by Bishop Carlyle Gronning in the presence j of close relatives and friends, in-i in-i eluding Mr. and Mrs. Smith-son, Smith-son, and the latters mother, sister and brother, Mrs. Lester Gustin, Mrs. Lee Barney and Frank Gustin, all of Salt Lake City, who were here for Thanksgiving Thanks-giving and the marriage. A wedding wed-ding supper was served following 1 the ceremony and several friends called to spend the evening and play bridge. The bride received many beautiful gifts. |
