Show Jack Bardsley left Sunday for Ogden, where he will be employed in the arsenal. Mrs. John Parry of Hinckley is visiting here at the home of her sister, Mrs. J. C. Smith. Mrs. Clyde Christy of Norfolk, Virginia is visiting in Milford with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. (George McDonald, and her sister, Mrs. David Glenn, and family. Mrs. David S. Williams entertained enter-tained the Monday Night Bridge club February 2 with all members present. The cub prize was won by Mrs. Gene Kirk and the house prize by Mrs. J. C. Smith, while Mrs. "Williams received the consolation conso-lation prize. ! A birthday party was enjoyed Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. George Moore, it being Mrs. Moore's birth anniversary. The time was spent playing bridge after which dainty refreshments were served 'by the hostess,' assisted assist-ed by her daughters. Jean' and Ar. leen. Those present were Mrs. J. R. Murdodk jr., Mrs. LaMaf- Out-zen, Out-zen, Mrs. J. M. Hughes, Mrs. An-tone An-tone Johnson, Mrs James Lang, Mrs. G. M. Wing, Mrs. Rudolph Nielsen, Mrs. 0. R. Smith, Mrs. J. H. Weston, Mrs. J. C. Smith and Mrs. Thomfas Gerrard. Prizes were received by Mrs. Outzen, Mrs. O. R. Smith and Mrs. Murdock. Mrs. J. E. Wilson was hostess to the Bridadiers club last Wed. nesday evening. Those present were Mrs. Vein Shingleton, Mrs. Walter Martin, Mrs. Otto Steen-bock, Steen-bock, Mrs. Tannis Strofeld, Mrs. J. P. Holm, Mrs. William Morris and Mrs. Ross Baxter. Prizes were won by Mrs. Steenbock, Mrs. Shingleton, Mrs. Strofeld and Mrs. Martin. . A number of women friends met with Mrs. J. H. Weston Monday afternoon, the occasion being her birthday. A very enjoyable time was spent playing Tn-idge, after which dainty ef reshments were served. Those present were Mrs. George Moore, Mrs. C. M. Wing, Mrs. 0. K. Smith, Mrs. Rudolph Nielsen, Mrs. W. 0. Carlson, Mrs. Powell Smyth, Mrs. F. A. Bing. ham, Mrs. W. Weber, Mrs. W. Morris, Mor-ris, Mrs. D. S. Williams, Mrs. J. R. Murdock jr., Mrs. M. H. Pool, Mrs. Loran Bishop, Mrs. V. Waddoups, Mrs. 'Leonard Bowen and Mrs. Willard Nichols. At bridge the high points prize was won by Mrs. Smith and the high honors prize by Mrs. Moore, while Mrs. Morris received the consolation prize. Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Jones announce an-nounce the marriage of their daughter Ruth to C. B. Duke of Pasadena, California, the marriage mar-riage having taken place Saturday afternoon, January 31, at Las Vegas, Nevada. The ceremony was performed by the Reverend Albert C. Milton and Joseph W. Nosack, a friend of the bridegroom, bride-groom, acted as best man. The party returned to Milford Sunday evening and the happy couple will make their home here for the time being. The bride is a graduate of the Milford high school, class of 1938 and has been assisting in the local telephone exchange for some time. Mr. Duke is a son of Mrs. C. B. Duke of Pasadena and is em-j ployed by . the Western Electric company. Last summer, and again J this winter, he has been assisting j with the installation of additional ! equipment at the local A. T. & T. relay station. They have the best j wishes of a host of friends. j |
