Show Mr. and Mrs. Marion Vincent were week-end visitors in Salt Lake. Mrs. Vance Fisher Is In Salt Lake City visiting at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Bird. Mrs. Wilson Moore returned home Tuesday from Long Beach, California, where she had attended attend-ed a Firemen's convention. Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Pool and daughters Sarah and Ruth, topped off a number of short vacation trips with a visit to Lehman cave Monday, and report a most enjoyable enjoy-able time. Mr. and Mrs. 0. C. Koch motored to Delta Monday on a combined business and pleasure trip, and report re-port finding their route over highway high-way 91-W a pleasurable one, having hav-ing made the 78-mile trip in less than two hours. Mrs. Gus Fernley and son, Eddie Ray, of Salt Lake have been visiting visit-ing here several days with Mrs. Fernley's daughter, Miss Zola Fernley, english teacher in the local high school, and other relatives rela-tives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Martin and children, Bob and Gladys, left Wednesday for a trip to Yellowstone Yellow-stone park. On their return they will stop at Logan and leave their daughter, who will attend school at the U. S. A. C. this winter. Mr. and Mrs. Xels Calvert returned re-turned Wednesday evening from a visit to Green River, Utah, with Mrs. Calvert's cousin, Mrs. R. J. Dinning, and family. Needless to say, they brought home a supply of the famous Green River watermelons water-melons and cantaloupes. Miss Lulu Xeilsen of Cheney, Washington, has been a guest at the M. H. Pool home for several days. Miss Xeilsen is an old schoolmate of Mrs. Pool. She left Saturday with Dr. Vasco Tanner, a profes-jor at the B. Y. U., and his daughter Gloria for a visit to Wayne Wonderlands before returning re-turning home. The Misses Maxine and Shirley Altman returned home last Saturday Satur-day from several weeks stay in Santa .Monica, California. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Thiessen of Ely, Nevada, former residents of Milford, were visiting local friends over the week-end. A number of the high school classmates of Bobby Nichols joined in giving him a very successful farewell party Wednesday evening at the Nichols home, prior to the family's departure for California. Mrs. 0. A. Melcher and pretty little daughter, Mary Lou, returned to Salt Lake Wednesday after a few days visit in Milford with Mrs. Melcher's father, Nephi Edwards, and other relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. John Stahl have as their guests W. T. Mitchell of Santa Ana, California, and Mrs R. S. Rennisson, brother and sister of Mrs. SUhi. Mr. Mitchell is a real estate operator in the California city and accompanying them here are his soninlaw and four children. I. Mitchell Fisher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Parley B. Fisher, who returned re-turned recently from a very suc-cessul suc-cessul L. D. S. mission in the north central states, will be the speaker at the local L. D. S. church service Sunday evening at 7:30, according to Bishop M. J. Christensen. Mrs. David S. Williams and son Bud returned Friday evening from fcanab, where they had taken Mis? I Lois to enter on her winter's work I as first grade teacher in the Ka-j Ka-j nab schools, a position offered her last spring after two years of similar si-milar teaching in Milford. Mrs. Delia Baxter entertained the Past Noble Grand club Wednesday Wednes-day night in the I. O. O. F. hall. Following a social hour at the card tables a short business meeting was held. A delicious lunch was then served by the hostess. Ten members were present. Mr. and Mrs. George Litchfield, accompanied by their neice, Mrs. J. C. Arnold, and her husband, enjoyed en-joyed a Sunday and Monday visit in Caliente and Pioche and at Boul-I Boul-I der dam. They were joined at Caliente by another neice, Mrs. Poy Eastoo, and her hu.Jand and a thoroughly good time was had. ! Mrs. J. R. Murdock jr. entertained entertain-ed her bridge club Saturday afternoon after-noon with Mrs. John Williams receiving re-ceiving high score prize, Mrs. William Wil-liam Cochrane second high score prize and Mrs. Murdock consolation consola-tion prize. Others present were Mesdams George Fernley, C. W. Cates, Rudolph Nielsen, Doug-las Ryan and John Weston. Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Harding' last week returned to Milford to make their home after a period of residence resi-dence in Provo, where he served as ; car clerk, having been "bumped" at that place by Les Farnon. Mrs. ; Harding is the former Mrs. Mar-! Mar-! garet Hendrickson, who served for some time as local telephone ex-. ex-. change manager. I j Mrs. C. Tom Martin and son Bob have returned from a long stay in i Salt Lake, where they were in close attendance at the bedside of Mr. Martin. The latter has been a patient at the veterans' hospital there for several months and recently re-cently underwent a serious operation, opera-tion, from which he is recovering nicely though his condition was not too encouraging at one time. The Root Confectionay, operated by Pratt P. Root, was "knocked over" about midnight Wednesday by five state liquor law enforcement enforce-ment officers under Rulon Pendleton Pendle-ton of Cedar City, new district enforcement en-forcement officer. The place was closed at once and stock and most of the fixtures are being moved to the old Atkin theatre ibuilding pending disposition by court order. Dr. R. R. Shannon reports the birth of a 72-pound baby girl to Mr. and Mrs. George Black Friday of last week; a 9 H -pound girl to Mr. and Mrs. M. E. (Bud) Handley Saturday; a 7 U -pound girl to Mr. and Mrs. Stan McKnight of Min-ersville Min-ersville Sunday; and !baby 'boys to Mr. and Mrs. Gus Fotheringham on Monday and to Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Gillins Wednesday morning. The annual dinner of the Milford Mil-ford Third Year 4-H club girls was given at the home of Mrs. Karl Levi. The dinner was prepared by the girls themselves and marked the completion of the year's work. The following mothers were present,: pres-ent,: Mrs. J. C. Waddingham and children chil-dren returned last Saturday from Marysville, California, where they remained for a longer visit when "Babe" returned home some ten days ahead of them. Previous to that, the family had enjoyed 2000 miles of western touring in their new Studobaker without a moment's mo-ment's trouble. They were accompanied accom-panied on the trip by Mrs. Wad-dirgham's Wad-dirgham's mother, Mrs. Sarah Bohn of Minersvillo, and by Miss Loree Bohn. Nineteen members of the Ep-A-orth League enjoyed a Labor lay picnic at Griffith's springs MVmday. Ater an afternoon of r.iking and playing and a picnic supper, the picnic closed with a hort vesper service.
