Show RueTyler's Rhythm Kids Make Big Hit With Performance Rue Tyler and his Rhythm Kids, five of whom are playing engagements engage-ments at the Firmage theatres in Milford and Beaver this week, have made a decided hit with local peo-pie peo-pie and will be accorded a ready welcome any time in the future that they may come this way. J All are students of Mr. Tyler and have attained a proficiency, on their fretted instruments that is' nothing short of marvelous. Marian Mari-an McCagg and La Verne Rutherford, Ruther-ford, the Dinus "twins" on the j stage, won additional laurels with their -clever dancing and tumbling despite an infected hand which caused Miss Marian considerable pain, while young David Lockwood, aged 9, made innumerable, friends with his splendid young voice. Dorothy Dart and.' Wayne Reed, the other members of the quintet, while their performance was confined con-fined to manipulation of banjo and guitar, literally made their instruments instru-ments talk as their fingers flew over the strings. The five youngsters that Mr. Tyler brought with him on this tour are only part of his huge banjo band,, reputedly the largest in the world, and a larger group will likely be sent on tour at some time in the future. .. |
