Show Wives Talk Silently in Caucasus Village , TIFLIS, U. S. S. R; An old-fashioned old-fashioned sign language, in which married women talk silently si-lently to their husbands, has been studied by Soviet scientists. It Is an old Caucasian custom. An expedition of the Tiflis Institute In-stitute of Caucasian Studies found the gesture language surviving in Isolated villages of Armenia, Georgia, Geor-gia, and other sections, and has published a scientific account. In this quick nnd silent language, lan-guage, a woman can represent a word or often a whole phrase by a single gesture. |
