Show if School IRotee ! FIRST GRADE P,:irlura brought .her jumping rope to school. She let us all jump it. Patsy Leach. We have new crayons. Xel-louise Xel-louise Hughes. We have changed our names. Our names, are Hearts, Valentines and Cheery Trees. Donna Rae Johnson. We are making valentine dolls out of red and white paper. Jean Norman. Doreen is making a picture. She is paintintr it green, blue and white. The boys and girls will like it. Jack Caperon. We have new pictures of Washington Wash-ington and valentines. Robert Davis. SECOND GRADE We have made pictures at school. They are Indian pictures. When we have them all finished we will make a big book. Then we will put it in the library for the boys and girls next year. We like them very much. Rae Bond. I am drawing a-picture. It is an Indian hunter hunting in a canoe. He is hunting some birds. There are trees on one side of the picture. There is grass in it too. Dorothy Campeau. We did pome free hand cutting. cut-ting. We cut pine trees, Indians, wigwams and canoes. We made a border with them. Barbara Lewis. I like school. I go to school every day. I am through making my picture today. When I am through with it we put it on the easel. We will take good care of it. My picture is about an Indian writing a story. Arthur Johan-son. Johan-son. I am making a picture. It has a tepee on the west side. The tepee te-pee i brown. I have two pine trees on the east side. Warren Richmond. THIRD GRADE I am drawing a battleship. It i is shooting at the enemy. It has six cannons on it. Two of them are shooting. This ship looks powerful. James Griffiths. We started to make water travel books. We started them on February 3. It is fun. Most of us have our covers done. Lots of us have the first boat and the I story about it. I have my first boat done and I have started my second story and have the picture to go with it. Howard Moody. George brought us a picture of Old Ironside and Ross brought a picture of a lighthouse. Howard Stewart. We have a story about an Eskimo Eski-mo boy. His name is Tak Tuk and his sisters name is Raisins. Don Sly. FOURTH GRADE We have a new bookcase. We have just enough books to fit in it. We painted it green. I helped bring it to school from Miss Cole-mans. Cole-mans. Jay Johanson. We have a new library shelf to keep our books in. It is a big one. It has three shelves in it. Durant Bingham helped paint it. We think 1 it is very pretty. Bertha Jean Hickman. We received a letter from Mr. Schmidt last Monday. It had many things we asked him. He answered most of the questions the fourth grade wanted to know. We appreciate it very much. Lindsay Waddingham. We have a bulletin board in our school. The first thing put on it ' was a picture of Lincoln. Under it it had these questions: Who is this? When is his birthday? Why do we celebrate his birthday? birth-day? .Write a story about him. Albin Holm. Valentine Day It was the day before Valentine. Valen-tine. Bobby and Anna were planning plan-ning to surprise Mrs. Jones. Mrs. Jones was very kind to Anne when she went on errands for her. She would give her candy and cookies and sometimes even a dime. That night Bobby and Anne got scissors, paper, crayons and other things they would need. They made many valentines. ' In . the morning they got up early and dressed so fast that Anne popped a button off her dress. When they were dressed they ran down stairs. "Hello! Hello!" said father, "Why so early this morning." morn-ing." "Oh we have a surprise for Mrs. Jones," replied Anne. "What is it?" asked father. "Wait and see." she said. That night Bobby and Anne were so excited that they didn't know what to do. They slipped outside and then went to Mrs. Jones. Mrs. Jones was doing dishes. She came to the door and said, "Come in." "May I help with the dishes", said Anne. "May I help get the wood", said Bobby. "Yes you may," replied Mrs. Jones. "You are the sweetest shildren I have ever seen." ' So Boby got the wood and Anne did the dishes. Mrs. Jones gave them some cookies made like hearts. Bobby, Anne and Mrs. Jones all had a surprise. FIFTH GRADE In history we htave begun to study a new unit called "The Southwest Territory". This takes in Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, California and part of Colorado. Today we were put on our different committees. This is our fifth unit and I hope it is as interesting as all the others. Helen Smith. Today in language class we studied synonyms and antonyms. I will tell you their meaning. Synonyms Syn-onyms are two words that mean practically the same and antonyms anto-nyms are two words that have opposite op-posite meanings. David Clark. On the 7th of this month we had a new teacher. For some reason rea-son Mr. Anderson couldn't teach so Mrs. Heslington came. I don't know how long she will teach but I'm sure we all like her. Lois Gray. SIXTH GRADE In our room we are studying about Switzerland. This country is a republic like France and the United States. They vote for a new president every year.
