Mrs. Otto Steenbock and Mrs. Vena Wilson had given the history of the life of Henry D. Thoreau. Others present were Mrs. Litchfield, Litch-field, Mrs. Shumaker, Mrs. Bowman Bow-man and Mrs. Hickman. The Business and Professional Womens. club had held a very sumptuous banquet at the Atkin cafe. Mrs. Bella James and Miss Wanda James, who were operating operat-ing the cafe, were praised highly for the wonderful food and excellent ex-cellent service. After the banquet, Mr. Ruschmeier, manager of the Orpheum theatre, invited the women wo-men to be his guests at that evening's performance. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph R. Murdock had received a message from their grandson and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Monto Levi, of Reno, Nevada, announcing an-nouncing the arrival of a baby boy. This was the first great grand child of the Murdocks. Justice of the Peace Bert Nichols had reported that the people of Milford were so good that there was no business in his court and he was thinking of offering of-fering a reduction in prices to stimulate trade. The Union Pacific station at Black Rock had just been completed com-pleted and was ready for occupancy. : -1 A baby girl had been born to i Mr. and Mrs. Bert Hoagland, a I baby boy to Mr. and Mrs. Carl Roberts, and a boy to Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Eyre of Minersville. during the week at the Milford hospital. The Old Friends club had been entertained by Mrs. Antone Johnson. John-son. "500" was played during the afternoon by Mrs. Karl Levi, Mrs. Fred Levi, Mrs. B. Hutchins, Mrs. Roy White sr., Mrs. Darl Quayle, j Mrs. W. O. Carlson, Mrs. James Lang, Mrs. Rudolph Nielsen and Mrs. H. L. Coon. Mrs. J. H. Hedges had entertained enter-tained four tables of "500" with Mrs. Antone Johnson winning the high score prize. The Republican state senatorial convention had met in Cedar City and those attending from Beaver county were George - Jefferson, I Andrew Morris, Karl S. Carlton, M. P. Lewis, Mrs. J. R. Murdock jr., J. U. Schiess, William Boyle, George Skinner and Mrs. M. P. Lewis. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Griffiths had entertained at their home in South Milford for Mr. and Mrs. Jack Evans of Richfield. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Sam Hickman, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Griffiths, Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Grimshaw, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Griffiths, Mrs. Erma Gillies and Mrs. Harry D. Farnow. |
