Show Milford GCC Notes Company 469, which has been situated in Milford for the past two years, is to be disbanded October Oc-tober 8. During the time that the camp has been in Milford those associated as-sociated with it have come to regard re-gard the town of Milford with affection. af-fection. It is with" a feeling of satisfaction that they recall their long and pleasant association with the people in Milford. The company wiU! establish a new camp in Columbus, Missi-sippi. Missi-sippi. The majority of the members mem-bers of the company will be transferred trans-ferred to the camp in Cheery Creek, Nevada. Approximately 15 men will accompany Mr. Ingram to Mississippi to establish the new camp. This is the second time since its inception that this company has been disbanded and moved to a new location. Its original location was Vicksburg, Mississippi. In October of 1937 the company was transferred to Milford, where it has remained until the present. The Milford camp will be occupied occu-pied by a 7th corps company about October 8, the new company to be composed of men-from Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska and South Dakota. |
