Show Mines of the County Off To New Activity Shipping of ore from the Honey Boy mine southeast of towns was resumed last week with a carload lot, the first of weekly carlot shipments ship-ments expected to be made regularly. regu-larly. Resumption of work at the Honey Hon-ey Boy was almost out of the question until some two or three weeks ago, due to the heavy drifts of snow on the road to the mine and in the vicinity of the mine, which is near the very top of the mountain. As it was, considerable hand-shoveling was neccessary in order to get to operating. In addition to getting out approximately ap-proximately four tons of good grade silver-gold ore out a day for shipping, the present objective of the Honey Boy management, the stoping and development work are continuing in order to be prepared to go into big production at such time as the company shall deem propitious. Another property in which work has been going on for some time without much fuss is the Beaver Crown property located about 7 miles southwest of Milford and formerly known as the Gold Crown. Einar Tulain and his brother, bro-ther, coming here from Salt Lake, have been operating this property for several weeks and last Satur day shipped some 15 tons of silver lead ore to the smelters, the hauling haul-ing to the rairoad having been handed by the Milford Auto company. com-pany. The Frisco Silver Lead company is also proceeding with development develop-ment work on a steadily increas-j ing scale at their property adjoin-; ing the King David property near! Newhouse. According to L. F. Block, president of the company,! who was in Milford Friday on his way back to Salt Lake after an in-; spection of the property, a contract con-tract for a 250-foot shaft has been let to A. Palmer and associates of Salt Lake, who are also using Ross and Wallace Patterson of Miford to round o'jt the force of five men. The shaft was originally sunk 110 feet with a windlass and the additional footaue now under contract con-tract will give a total depth of HfiO feet, with cross-cuts every 50 feet. The company l as just completed installing a 2-i-horse power gasoline gaso-line hoist, and the compressor at. the old (shaft has U-vn connected with t)00 feet of pipe extending to the new shaft- This. w:;h the now gallows fiame ju-t erected, should greatly facilitate reaching the objectives ob-jectives of Mr. Block and his associate-. The shaft has reached line of demarcation between the oxidized and -u'phh'o 7or.es and is in a very beautiful b 1 u spar lime. |
