Show New Gym, Shop For High School Dedicated Friday Featured by a scintillating demonstration dem-onstration of physical education aetivites that was a revelation to many of these present, topped by a 32-2S Milford victory over the strong Monroe high school basketball basket-ball team, Milford's magnificent new gymnasium and shop were formally dedicated Friday night of last week. The affair was free to the public pub-lic and was followed by an inspection inspec-tion :f the fine new two-story building and of equipment and' work accomplished in the shop room- This occupies the greater part of the lower floor of the new structure, where high school boys were on hand to explain operation of the various pieces of equipment, equip-ment, all of which are of the highest high-est types from points of safety, simplicity, efficiency and economy. The physical education demonstrations, demon-strations, staged under the direction direc-tion of Coach Floyd Kbtter and Miss Josephine White, consisted of clever tumbling exercises and various games, including volley ball, badminton and quoitsi, in all j of which both boys and girls tooki part and demonstrated the wide j range icf physical development possible under the present circumstances. circum-stances. Several age groups of' boys also staged battle royal box-! ing exhibitions, which were highly! entertaining while) they llasted. Principal E. R. Mcody acted' as' master of ceremonies,, utilizing i the public address system belong- j ing to the school, as did the other speakers. J- C. Smith of Milford, president of the Beaver County Board of Education, in the prin-; cipal address, gave a brief history 'of events which had' led to the erection of this much-needed addition ad-dition to the Milford school plant, stating that the building stood as a lasting monument bo. the determination deter-mination of the taxpayers to give the boys and girls every advan-1 tage possible. Superintendent S. j Melvin Wittwer also told of his j deep gratification at the completion comple-tion of the building as something that Milfcrd students and Milford people had been entitled to for a long period of time. J. M. Hughes, high school science instructor, ! offered the dedicatory prayer and the high school band, under the! direction icf A. H.
