Show Mines of Milford Section Show New Life Tintic Lead Has Two Shifts Working At King David Shaft; Beaver Gold and Copper Ships Rich Ore; Honey Boy Ready With Another Car - . Several who "have recently visited t tie King: David mining- property, adjoining- the famous Horn Silver in the San Francisco district, have left enthusiastic en-thusiastic over the company's prospects. pros-pects. A month ago a contract was let to continue the north drift on the 750-foot 750-foot level an additional 1000 feet at the King- David. The drift is now in about 1000 feet and headed for several sever-al well-defined east-west mineralized areas, having- recently entered a nunlber of "bug-" holes, material from which showed values in lead, gold and silver. During the past few days-the fall of the drift has shown substantial improvement and Lorin Morrison, president,.: and the company com-pany engineers are hopeful of entering enter-ing pay ore with any round of shots. The work is being- pushed with two shifts daily and the drift advanced eight or nine feet.' The property is completely equipped and the three-compartment three-compartment shaft is considered one of the, best constructed in the state. Honey Boy To Ship lAnother Carload of Gold-Silver Ore Work at the Honey Boy gold-silver mine at the head of Pole canyon in the Bradshaw district has been at pretty much of a standstill for the last two or three weeks, due to the fact that several of the miners employed em-ployed there have been off the job for one reason or another. Despite this fact, another 40-ton car of ore is being shipped within a few days and the officials expect to ship ahun-i dred tons or more each month while carrying out an extensive development develop-ment campaign. The surface of the g-round in the vicinity of the Honey Boy is covered with slide rock to a depth of several feet and it is necessary to take care of this loose rock wherever there is any exploration work done. All of this is being attended to in a workmanlike work-manlike manner under the direction of Superintendent W. H. Hendrick-son, Hendrick-son, and there are now between five and six thousand tons of good shipping ship-ping ore that can be sent to the smelters smel-ters with only a small amount of work to be done. Interest In Old Lincoln Mine Revival of interest in the old Lincoln Lin-coln mine near the cave property in the Bradshaw district, is being well reeeived by local people. This property prop-erty has been idle for a long time but was a constant producer at one time, having been electrically operated oper-ated with a substation of the Tellu-ride Tellu-ride Power company named for the property. This property, hampered by litigation litiga-tion in which the property was plunged as part of an estate and inconvenienced by a large volume of water, has been permitted to lie idle until now, but appears to have awakened awak-ened to new life along with the other properties of Beaver county. Inci-dently, Inci-dently, the water which was once a problem in the successful working of the mine, may now become an asset as an aid to irrigation needs. Beaver Gold and Copper Ships Ten Tons of Rich Ore The Beaver Gold and Copper company, com-pany, operating in the Beaver Lake; district is shipping some ten tons of high grade ore this weekend and the returns are expected fully to justify justi-fy the faith of Manager A. J. Mc-Mullen Mc-Mullen and. others who are confident confi-dent of the future of this property. Some of the finest ore in this section sec-tion has been taken out of this property prop-erty from time to time but the main efforts of Mr. McMullen and his associates as-sociates have been concentrated on exploratory work. Frisco Reports Encouraging Good development progress has been made at the property of the; Frisco Silver Lead Mining company during the last two months, accord-1 ing to L. F. Block, president, who re-i turned to Salt Lake last week from! an inspection trip. The property is; located in the San Francisco Mining! district in this county, about a mile west of the Horn Silver and is adjoined ad-joined on the south by the King David Mining company. "We are making good progress in the development of the Jumbo fissure," fis-sure," he said. "This is a newly discovered dis-covered fissure that seems to be responsible re-sponsible for the deposition of good commercial ore on a large scale. In sinking on the fissure we have never had less than 4Vs feet width. "There is a highly mineralized iron gossan between 400 and 500 feet in width traversing our property in an easterly and westerly direction. The Jumbo fissure appears to be a major break following the iron gos-! san, . ' "We have encountered values from! the surface in our present work of i sinking on this fissure. Some of this j rich galena ore has assayed as high J as 80 ounces in silver, 00 per cent i lead, and $3.15 gold. The ore consistently con-sistently runs at least one ounce of silver to every per centum of lead. This ore occurs in the fissure and in replacements. These replacements are found in one of the most soluable 1 and highly mineralized limestones in ! the state. I ! "In the immediate future we expect ex-pect to connect our present develop-1 ment work with machinery already! on the property, and speed up operations." opera-tions." ! ; Moscow Plans New Work j Work at the Moscow mine, well- j i known for its production of some of I ; the richest ore in the district a few j years ago, is about to undergo devel-i devel-i opment along plans suggested by an ! engineer by the name of Cox, well-1 well-1 known throughout the west as a mining authority. Mr. Cox made a very complete survey of the Moscow property some time ago and at that time expressed a great deal of confi dence in the property as one of the coning big producers of the district, j Except for minor operations, car-j car-j ried on by two or three men, the Moscow has been inactive for a time i but the word from New York head-I head-I quarters that work is to be renewed 'with a full force and eccarding to the j suggested plan of Mr. Cox, is received receiv-ed with a great deal of satisfaction by local people, who have never ceased having full faith in this property. prop-erty. o |
