Show WHERE TO BUY "Buy American" but go farther than that. Buy at home. It is just as important to each community that its citizens buy from their merchants and industries as it is to each nation that its peo- ile buy their own goods. Less unemployment is the watchword today. Nothing must j be left undone that will send one's own countrymen and neighbors j back to work. One of the tilings all can do is to buy where it will j do the most good in this direction. I There would be no object in such provincialism if America and (Jreat Britain would buy from each other and if Chicago and Rural Center would engage in mutual patronage. But Great Bri-j tain preaches "Buy British" and Chicago believes just as strongly j in buying at home as Rural Center should. j If city and mail-order shopping was ever justified by a disparity dis-parity in prices placing merchants in the smaller communities at a disadvantage, that justification no longer exists. Prices have! been seeking their own level during the depression. ; Every dollar should be spent where it will give the spender not only the goods : he wants at a fair price but business or employment em-ployment in return. . No gap should be left in the circle of com- j luunity spending. |
