Show Kiddies and Others Feted By Auxiliary Last Saturday evening, December 22, Old Saint Nick" visited the home of Mrs. Mary Nichols where twenty small children anxiously awaited his arrival and there was excitement indeed in-deed when he handed each child a bag of cracker jack and a small toy from his large basket. After Santa had wished all a Merry Christmas and was again on his way he children were rushed home and tucked in their beds, after which their mothers returned and with other American Legion Auxiliary members were served a delicious turkey dinner i at eight o'clock. To the delight of all, gifts were distributed just before the guests arose from the dinner table. The program which followed was enjoyed by everyone and consisted of a Christmas story by Ardeth Outzen, I a song by a chorus of five Auxiliary members, two Christmas stories by Mrs. Vena W'ilson, a duet by Mrs. ' Fern Hall of Minersville and Mrs. Naomi Hughes, and songs by the group. The remainder of the evening eve-ning was spent in exchanging Christmas Christ-mas thoughts and in social chat. Twenty-seven members, including Miss Frances Wood, Mrs. Fern Hall and Mrs. Alice McKnight from Minersville, and one guest, Mrs. Vena Wilson of Milford, were present. The committee in charge of the evenings activities were Mrs. Christie Lyman, Mrs. LaPriel Lewis, Mrs. Jennie : Bowen, Miss Angie Lyman and Mrs. I Mary Nichols. |
