Show ! ""'" Senator George Jefferson left the forepart of the week for Salt Lake to attend to business matters. W. T. Loveridge, who has been transacting business here the past few days, left Sunday for Parowan. The Pierian club met at the home of Mrs. D. S. Williams Monday evening. eve-ning. Two book reviews were given and an interesting current article was read by Mrs. J. D. Johnston. Other members present were Mes-dames Mes-dames L. G. Clay, J. L. Low, J. XI. Murdock sr., R. E. Ellingsworth, Vena H Wilson and Miss Rozetta Koch. A birthday surprise party honoring Miss Zola Rogers was given at the Rogers home Tuesday evening. Refreshments Re-freshments were served and games played. Those present were Maxine and Shirley Altman, Virginia Baxter, Elaine Kirk, Joan Hickman, Ennis Rogers, Bob Clark, Gordon Murdock, Allan Bingham, Keith Johnson and , Bud Williams. Mrs. LaMar Outzen entertained her Bridge club and guests at her home Friday night. Mrs. Myron Lewis won the club prize for high points, Mrs. Spencer Schow the club prize for honors and Mrs. J. M. Williams Wil-liams the club consolation prize. Mrs. George Fernley won guest high score prize and Mrs. William Cochrane received re-ceived guest consolation prize. Parties who sold their turkeys to Swift and company, for whom J. R. Murdock jr. of tl.e White market was atrent in arranging preliminary details, de-tails, are reported to have been well pleased with the grading and other features of the deal, with the result that the Swift concern is thought ol most kindly in this section, due in a large measure, however, in our opinion opin-ion to the good work of Mr. Murdock. Mur-dock. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Nichols am family enjoyed a visit over the week end from Mr. and Mrs. Bob Curtis and two sons of Michigan City, Mississippi. Mis-sissippi. Mr. and Mrs. Curtis are cousins of Mrs. Nichols and the visit the first contact in 30 years, becami a very happy reunion. They lef: Tuesday morning for California, intending in-tending to return home by way of th( southern route after coming wes' through the northern states, devoting devot-ing a couple of months to the trip. |
