Show STAGE BOXING AND WRESTLING MATCHES PUT ON EVENING OF BOXING BOUTS A card of boxing events will be given by the Milford American Legion Le-gion post next Tuesday evening, at the high school gymnasium. It has been some time since boxing or wrestling shows have been put on in Milford, and the ex-soldiers hope to revive interest here in ring events. For the main bout, they have secured se-cured Johnny Brown, known to some as 'The Terrible Greek,' and who is a cook at the station kitchen. His opponent, well known in Milford, is Ken Hollis, likewise a Union Pacific employee and who works at the shops. These boys both weight about 155. They will box for six rounds. Preliminary bouts between local devotees of the padded glove will lead up to the main attraction. The Legion plans to give a 'smoker' 'smok-er' about every two weeks, the type of ring men brought here depending solely on the amount of interest and support given by the town. Two "':'nally famous wrestlers have been booked for early in June. |
