Show HIGH SCHOOL OPERA WILL BE PRESENTED ON FRIDAY EVENING Rapid progress being made in the mastery of parts by the members of the cast of "Trial by Jury" indicates indi-cates that the operetta to be presented present-ed Friday night at the high school auditorium by the music depirlment will be a signal success. Abounding in Gilbert and Sullivan inimitable humor and Gilbert and Sullivan lilting music, "Trial by Jury" is always popular wilh an audience and tomorrow night'" performance per-formance will be of additional interest inter-est because of the well chosen cast singing the roles. Sherman Hickman who gave a credable performance in Lelawaha will portray the judge, Virgie Killam has been selected for the role of plaintiff, Melvin Bowman whose i . isingmg was well received in the last I high school operetta plays the defendant, de-fendant, Foster Morris is to be the jcounsil for the plaintiff, Charles Clements, Cle-ments, the usher, and Farrel Peter-son, Peter-son, foreman of the jury. In addition to the leads, there is a chorus of eighty-five jurymen, bride's maids and spectators. An orchestra composed of Ruth Pool, piano, Jesse Done, and Loraine -Bowman, violine and Sarah Pool, celo will accompany the singers, j Cast, chorus and orchestra are all of the Milford High school music de- partinent and are under the able di- reel ion of Lorus Hand. Stage rarpen-try rarpen-try and settings are in the hands of .1. M. Hughes and his manual training train-ing class. The opera, though amusing in them" and popular in its type of ' mu'-ir. is of true operetic construc- tion and carri no speaking part. |
