Show SLAIN DEPUTY HONORED AT FUNERAL HELD IH DELTA Honor was shown in respect to the memory of Floyd L. Rose, whose life was taken when in the discharge ot his duties, by Sirilo Rico, by a large funeral concourse held in Delta, Wednesday, October 4th, at the L. I). S. Meeting House. Floyd L. Rose was horn May 12 th, 1896, belnng twenty-six years old ' at the time of his decease; he was a veteran of th- World War, and was characterized by a marked intrepedl-ty intrepedl-ty and fearlessness. On April 6 th, 1921, at Fillmore, he married Miss Thlrsa Lee of Meadow, and from thai union there survives the father the Infant daughter, Ometa, aged a few months. At the bier of the slain deputy, the towns people showed their res. pect to the memory of the deceased, by a large attendance, and by fitting testimonials to the character of the man who met his death while in active ac-tive discharge of a duty in behalt of his state. Clark Allred, Post Master Mas-ter made an address, followed by Alma Al-ma Greenwood and by Scott Tag-gart. Tag-gart. Miss Flora Steele rendered a vocal solo, "Oh My Father," and Mr. Scott Taggart also rendered 4 BOlO. Deceased was the son of Oscar and Emma Rose ot Richfield; his father Is dead, but his mother is still living, liv-ing, and he Is further survived by his widow and small daughter and three brothers and one sister, namely, Virgil Vir-gil Rose, Irvine Rose and Ernest Rose and Miss Geneal Rose. Beautiful floral tributes spoke silently sil-ently at the bier, and the widow ana family have the heartfelt sympathy of a large number of friends, who paid their last respects. Theirs is the consolation of a son, husband and father who rendered the supreme su-preme sacrifice In the cause ot apprehending ap-prehending a fugitive from justice. |
