Show MEDICATING WATER SUPPLY OPPOSED '.;.0 Attention is- called to House r.il! No. 83, which proposes to give the State Board of Health the powers of general oversight of the water supplies sup-plies of the different cities and towns towns of the State. This bill would permit the State Board of Health to medicate the water wa-ter supply in any way, it sees fit, and thereby force its own medical tre t-ment t-ment upon every individual in the state regardlei of his physical conditions con-ditions or desires. Would not t'tis infringe upon constitutional right? There is nothing in the measure to prevent the health authori ies from placing any amount of iodi ;e. chlorine gas, or other medication in public waters. An example of what might be de'ie is) seen in the conditions existing in alt Lake City, where for ma ly months the fine mountain supplies 'iave been so medicated that ma iy citizens have been unable to drink it. The writer believes it the duty of all those who reserve the right to choose their own kind of medical treatment, and those who are opposed op-posed to bureaucratic control, to oppose op-pose this measure. And from numerous conversations with many others, he believes he is voicing the opinion of many on t'lls subject. Contributed. Frank L. Copenlng writes 1 ho Chronicle that he is now at Bo'i le, Arizona, drilling in a well, which shows promise of making good. |
