Show MILLARD COUNTY. o Written for M. I. A. Stake Day By Mrs. It. J. LAW. o Ho! for Millard County; Ho! for the place we love, Where waving fields and happy homes, Await the ambitious man who comes His nfetal here to prove. What better could we ask for, than we here enjoy. The Lord has given us blessings rare, Such fruits, such harvest, sunsets fair. Such wonderful girls and boys, Those crested mountains on the east. Protecting shelter provides, For Apples, peaches, melons, pears, Make a showing at our county fairs. And Utah's State fair besides. And in this fertile valley Those shinning strips of green, Where irrigation takes her stand, And sunshine lends a helping hand, Alfalfa fields are seen. They stretch away across the flat. Inspiration to the eye. For wealth is hidden in their folds, Each little stalk a dollar holds. The farm, (itself) will buy, And these are not the only things, Our county now can boast, From increasing acreage of beets Our Factory helps supply the sweets That are used from coast to coast. And education has her place, for this we all can see, In this enlightened age will make Our boys and girls prepare and take responsibility. Three high schools filled to overflow, over-flow, What will the out-come be? A College? Yes, equipped with truth, Will be an asset for our youth. We're sure that day to come. Then Ho! for Millard County, her name goes far and wide. And thousands will come To make their homes, Within this valley wide. Safe sheltered here in Millard, From many ills of life. We labor for our daily bread, For after all is done and said, That is the staff of life. Then Idleness we'll hanish from our industrious ranks, For work will make our county yield A bounteous harvest from each field, Let Heaven receive our thanks. o Henry Forester received a gold medal for his work in Provo at the Invitational Meet.
