Show , DELTA CHURCH NOTES. j The Home Missionary Hoard of th$! Presbyterian Church of America ha$ decided to help the people of Delta obtain ob-tain a little church. They have petitioned peti-tioned the church erection committee and their petition was answered iy a grant of (275, to be used In paying last year's debts only. A subscription paper pa-per is now being circulated among the business men and people of the town and community, and Is receiving th support of nearly everybody. The Archibald Murphy house and lot on Clark street has been purchased and' w ill be reiiKxiled and furnished for a church. The lean to part of the building build-ing will be umd as a place for the local missionary to live. Any one who has not been given an opportunity to help this good work along by subscribing, subscrib-ing, arid desires to do so, can find the subscription paper with Hev. It. Rutt, held at the school house, June 4, from 8 to 12 p. m. was attended by about seventy people. Quite a good many new people iwere present. After a musical program was rendered, the young folka occupied occu-pied the north room playing various games, while the older feeling folk re-mained re-mained In the south room In groups, telling each other where they came from to Delta and what they thought of this country. At 11 the ladles, who are always thoughtful of the Inner man, served fruit punch and cake to everybody. All present pronounced' It one of tho greatest event of the season. They further decided before leaving to have a get-acrpialnted social so-cial especially for new comers once a month In the future. At this meet- 1 Ing, while very Industrious wllh their ' needles, they discussed the problems of religions and social activities that confront the people of this new conn- ' try. 1 As the result of this discussion, the 1 hostess, Mrs. Hob, acting as chairman, 5 an organization was perfected with Mrs. Hev. ' A motion was then made that each tine should earn a dollar within the ' next month In some way other thiyi ' iltklng their husband's pockets. The ' money was to start the fund for the ' Hub's work. ' Motion was seconded and carried.
