' Wednesday, Jan. 24th, the Indian War Veterans and their wives visiteJ our school. A very interesting program pro-gram was rendered and nearly all the veterans told their experiences in lighting the red men. Th.fr singing ol "Hlack Hawk and His Red Skiu Hand," together with the war dance, were something new to the students. At 12 o'clock the veterans were banqueted ban-queted by the Relief Society and In the atternoon visited the district school. At 3 o'clock a basket ball game was played for the amusement of .the war veterans. One sad feature ol the gathering was that Commander Kelly reported the death of nino old veterans within the past nine weeks. Steps were taken at the meeting to organize a Dixie Association, as a great many people, formerly from Dixie, live In Hinckley and Deseret. The first reunion will be on Feb. 1". Through the efforts of Prof, ('luff the Consolidated Implement Company has presented the Academy with a fine while top three seated buggy. A dance was given Friday evening to raise means to buy a team. Twenty-seven dollars was realized. The M. 8. A. Dramatic Company repealed re-pealed the drama "Mr. Hob" at Delta Saturday night, where a $4.1 house enjoyed en-joyed the play. i |
