Show I Chatter Box Dear Suzy The Gardners are arc In the limelight limelight limelight lime lime- light this week which Isn't surprising surprising sur sur- considering the large number number number num num- ber of them and the way they act First Is Alice Gardner wife of Clair Gardner the big dairy and milk milkman milkman man and the following events have just come to light although they had been hidden well for some time Alice was up town one day and figured that the law was not around and wouldn't catch her and so she parked the family vehicle vehicle vehicle ve ve- hicle in extremely close to a fire plug She had little to do for shopping and thought she would be back within a matter of minutes Well We we all know a womans woman's minute is anything from a few hours to a week and sure enough when she got back to the car there thee was a nice cordial little note from Jack Bennett asking for an interview interview interview inter inter- view with her with a judge as arbitrator Poor Alice went home nome much disturbed dis US- over the fact that the long arm of the law had reached out and plucked a few shekels from her pocket to pay the fine ine Clair I was little consolation to her and remarked as no man should that it was all her fault and she should have known have known better I Came the day of the interview and Alice with jittery nerves and of breath prepared to meet her fate She got dressed up ready to see Mr Bennett and the judge when Clair finally broke down and confessed the whole sordid sordid sordid sor sor- did affair He had happened by in the dairy truck and saw the parking situation whereby Alice had left the car in touching distance distance distance dis dis- dis- dis tance of a fire plug and so he had stopped and written a ticket for her and had signed Jacks Jack's name Alice felt much better about the deal then as she would not have to put out any money on fines but she did not like Clair to go running running running run run- ning around playing Junior G Man especially with her parking Second of the Gardners to be brought to your is Jean wife of E. E E. E Gardner also known as Gene She was prettying herself herself herself her her- self up the other da day to come to town and to complete her preparations preparations preparations washed her teeth During this process she thought the toothpowder toothpowder tooth toothpowder powder had a peculiar taste and not one like the voiced golden-voiced boy claims over the radio In fact the I taste made her think that someone had put their foot in her mouth and that is not a pleasant thought to entertain She went about with the ablutions of her molars mentally mental mental- ly considering never to buy that l kind nd of tooth powder again All AH finished she laid the brush down by the side of the tooth toothpowder toothpowder toothpowder I powder and her eyes fell upon the label which read Dr Scholls Scholl's s 's Foot Powder A hurried washing re-washing of her teeth cleaned them again and I with a more pleasant effect but there still lingered in her mind the I fact that she had scrubbed and polished her teeth with foot powder pow pow- der Mrs Gardner do does s not recommend recommend recommend mend this to anyone else but she says that it still is better to make the mistake of foot powder rather than using zinc ointment instead of regular toothpaste It all goes to show that mistakes can h happen even in the best of families and it proves that we all should cross index our medicine cabinets and place related objects near each other so as to not fall into the same error as poor Jean Well we can leave the Gardners now with the admonition that they do better in the future and keep from falling into such predicaments that they have to be straightened out by me because like I said before before before be be- fore there are so many of them that should they get to straying from the straight and narrow there will be no room here to tell anyone anyone anyone any any- one else but them We Well its it's only a few days until Christmas so dont don't forget to do your shopping early Toots |
