Show Makes Gift to Library Of Water Color Picture James E. Works made a very pretty water-color picture of a scene near his home in California. He passes the neighborhood at intervals; in-tervals; was one morning struck with its beauty in a bright, clear .tin. and paused to make a study of it. He made a sketch in pencil, revisited the spot and put down its components, and then at home re-sketched the first rough draft, and in odd hours filled in with color. The scene is very beautiful. He made a presentation of it to the City or Delta. It now hangs in the Library, and is the best picture on exhibit there. The Mayor anil City Council wish to thank Mr. Works in public print for this fine gift, and show their appreciation. |
