Show Letter from Southwest Pacific (From Dallas A. Greener on board ship, somewhere in the Pacific, to his mother, in Hinckley.) July 6, 1945 Dear Mother: We only got just the one batch of mail here and as there was none for me in that one, I haven't heard from you for about two months. This has been a very interesting trip down here and I've surely had some good experience. However, I'm more than ready to head for home. I ran into a Mormon down here the other day. He isn't a mission-ary mission-ary from Utah; he was born here and was converted. Now he is a sort of missionary among his own people. He was surely interesting to talk to and really acted glad to see a Mormon from Utah. I went to their Sunday School and he had me tell them about Salt Lake, the temple and tabernacle and other ; things. Most of the natives didn't understand English very well so he had to interpret what I said. I enjoyed en-joyed it very much. I am well and getting along all i right. Don't worry if you don't hear from me for a while because I will be out to sea. I hope you are all getting along fine and are all well. Write soon. Love, Dallas. |
