Show Paper Drive Nets About One-Third Of a Carload Elementary Schools in Delta and Hinckley Bring In Main Portion The paper drive ended here this past week with about one-third of a carload being shipped out. This is not much for such a large territory, terri-tory, and will pay the workers but little for their efforts. The elementary schools in both Hinckley and Delta brought, by tar the largest amounts, with the Delta Del-ta students gathering up 7,660 lbs. and Hinckley 7,370. The Boy Scouts brought in 1540 pounds. A representative of the paper company was on hand to show how they wanted it loaded and segregated segre-gated into the various types. The loading was done by four Japanese-Americans from Topaz, under the direction of Jerold Bennett. The Trucks from the neighboring towns brought in their loads, and as far as we can determine, all the paper was shipped out that had been gathered up. |
