Show DESERET . . . Monday evening a surprise House Warming party was held ot Mrs. Lucille Sampson, who ha: just moved into her new home A very lovely evening was enjoy ed by all. Refreshments wen served. Those present were, Eunici Black, Luella Western, Evelyr Cropper, Arprilla Scow, Beti Moody, Rae Jensen and Ivanel Humphries. Mrs. Sampson received some ver; nice gifts for her new home. Daughter of Pioneers met at thi home of Zada Dewsnup on Thurs day afternoon. A very fine lessoi was given after which refresn ments were served to a largi crowd. The B & K Club met at the liomi of Mrs. Mollie Dewsnup Wednes day afternoon. A book was review ed by Zada Dewsnup. Refresh ments were served. Those pres ent were: Zada Dewsnup, Molli' Dewsnup, Myrle Bennett, Stelh Black, Ava Bennett, Vilate Max field, Arlean Bennett, Zella Mood; and Lois Eliason. Mrs. Lucille Sampson entertainei at club Thursday evening. Thi evening was spent at playing rool after which lunch was served Those present were: Lorayne Var Marie Lake, Evelyn Cropper, VerL Damron, Bessie Webb, Donna Se gars, Enid Hopkins, Lucille Samp son. Mr. and Mrs. Verdon Davis en tertained at a party Saturday eve ning. The occasion was Mrs. Davis birthday. The evening was enjoy ed at playing rook. Those presen were: Mr. and Mrs. Weldon Theo bald, Mr. and Mrs. Milden W. Scow Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ekins, Mr. an Mrs. Owen Holt and Mr. and Mrs Verdon Davis. Mrs. J. A. Bennett spent the wee end at Magna, visiting with Mi and Mrs. T. Justensen. The Hinckley MIA presente their 3-act play "Light for Tomor row", at the Deseret Ward hall o: Sunday evening. A very larg crowd was in attendance "with ; number of people from out-ol town. Everyone enjoyed the pla: and we certainly appreciate th cast of the play and their direc tor, Joe Buchanan, for bringing i over. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ekins enter tained on April 18th in honor o her brother, Pvt. John Dewsnup. , large crowd of relatives and friend were present. Supper was serve and the evening spent in playin rook. Mr. and Mrs. J. Dee Black mad a trip to Salt Lake City this weel Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Gonder fror Garrison were visitors at Desere Wednesday. The P.T.A. of the A. C. Nelso school held their meeting Wednes day evening. Students of th Hinckley High school gave th program as follows: Prayer F. M. Western. Song Melba Western. Reading Vera Christensen. Piano Duet Flora and Donn Brady. Reading Mavis Dewsnup. Song Carol Moody. Reading Vaughn Allen. Speaker of the evening was E. , Eliason. After the program electio of new officers were held and ol officers were released with a vot of thanks. The outgoing officers were: Mr; J. Layton Dewsnup, Mrs. Rande: Cahoon, Mrs. Wash Roundy, Mr: Glen Skeems. The newly elected officers are Mrs. Jack Willoughby, president Vonda Moody, Mable Theobald an Mrs. Webster, helpers. Neva Cropper was held over a secretary. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Warner am son Jay, from Burbank, spent th' week end at Deseret on busines and visiting with friends. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Webb am Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Dewsnup, spen Wednesday at Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Christensen am family of Milford and Rulon Chris tensen of Logan spent the weel end visiting their parents, Mr. am Mrs. Alma J. Christensen. The occa sion being that their brother, Cp Bernon Christensen is home on i furlough from Camp Hood, Texas |
