Show Nathan J. Roundy Killed in Battle For Iwo Jima j '$ - i : i ) Sgt. Nathan J. Roundy Marine Gunnery Sergeant Nathan J. Roundy, son of Geroge Erwin Roundy, Delta, died March 3 of injuries in-juries received in action on Iwo Jima and was buried at sea. His widow, Deon Turloupis Roundy, Roundy, lives in Provo. Born Dec. 25, 1920, in Oasis, a son of George E. Roundy and Tecla Christensen Roundy, he received his education in Hinckley schools. He entered the Marine Corps in August, 1940, and was on Midway island when the war broke out. He participated in three major battles on Midway island before returning to the United States in April, 1942. In January, 19-14. he returned to the Pacific area and participated in the Marshall islands, Saipah, and Tinian campaigns. He received the bronze star for action on Sai-pan Sai-pan and Tinian. Surviving are his father and stepmother of Delta; his widow; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Still and Neida Roundy, Delta, a half-sister and two half brothers, Novella. - and Parley Roundy, all of Delta.
