S army combat unit is leaving to fight for America There is a great deal more behInd behind behind be be- hind the departure of these men than their mere Induction Into the army They and their volunteer comrades who are soon to follow are symbolic of the true spirit of Americanism By offering their lives to their nation they are leading leading leading lead lead- ing the way in the loyal Japanese American peoples people's struggle for the betterment of their position in so so- so These volunteers are supporting and encouraging some sons brothers and husbands of Topaz residents who are already in the U. U S. S armed forces We want these volunteers to know that they will always be re re- re We will look with pride and satisfaction upon the large service flag which is to be unfurled here in honor of our fightIng fighting fighting fight- fight Ing sons It will remind us ever of the common hope that peace may soon come and permit us all to share in the fruits of happier and more democratic America Charles F.
