Show Letter from Boy In Service Port Blakely Wash I Feb 2 1942 Dear Friends I II I received your nice letter last Friday but l 1 lJ just st dont don't have much time to write many letters They keep up pretty busy going to the school standing radio watches and guard around the station to guard against sabotage and spy action We are all an just waiting to get our hit at Hitler HiUer Mussolini and the slant eyed Japs It is funny how war has come along every so often to join us more firmly together and to the ones we love so dearly c cI I probably would have been in Manila or at Pearl Harbor or some other place if I had made it when I tried to join the Army with Max I regretted then that I make it but now I believe it was because God had reserved me for some more important job in the Navy I am doin doing fine in school and I Iam Iam Iam am having a good time doing it Just keep the Home Fires burning and one of or these days Max and I will be coming home in a way that will make you and Mother very proud of us Please send me Maxs Max's address as soon as you can get it so I can write him Write very soon God bless you I remain always a friend La Cont Johnson Pearl Harbor and keep them flying and keep the ships sailing salling |
