| Show Water a ter er Starts arts Running Running Over Spillway 1 w at Dam am First Time in Twenty Years That the Reservoir has been to to Overflowing At the present time water is spillIng spillIng spill spill- Ing over the dam at the Sevier Bridge Reservoir at the rate of oC second feet a day and when the Peak of the run-off run comes it may get Set as high as 1500 second feet a day This Is the first time that the spillway has been used for lowerIng lowerIng lowering lower lower- ing the dam since 1922 All AU of the reservoirs along the Sevier Sevier Sevier Se Se- vier River are full and overflowing and even even the Gunnison Bend Reservoir Res- Res 1 which has only had small amounts let down the spillway to flush Hush the river is n now now w running lunning a large stream and no doubt will be running a much larger stream when the full spring run-off run comes The Sevier r Bridge Dam now stands at the eighty foot level with all of the flow of the river coming thru to the lower reservoirs Tuesday the lower reservoirs were opened top lip lowering them that the first flush of this feet will not fill them them hem too full as this first flush lush arrived Wednesday morning The Gunnison Bend Reservoir is spilling at about feet which is going down the old river channel and is now filling up many of the theold theold old ponds and lakes on the lower end of the river system Crafts Lake held fairly high all winter and Is now almost full so that this extra water will have to go partly to Swan Lake and partly to the theold theold theold old Black Lakes northwest of the Seed Farms The spring run-off run hasn't really reany got under way on account of oC the cold weather and some men place this run-off run at about 1500 ers say it may reach 2200 feet If the latter figure is accurate there will be many problems as to what to do with this water when it gets to the the lower end of the Sevier |
