Show I Final Tribute Paid to Delta Pioneer Resident Funeral services were held in iDelta I IDelta Delta at the second ward chapel chapelon on Monday afternoon for Mrs 1 Charlotte Le Fevre Steele widow I of M. M M M. Steele Jr who died dIed at atI ather I I her home in Delta on Friday Sept I 5 after an Illness of several weeks Mrs Steele was born in Panguitch I on March 24 1873 a daughter of William Villiam and Frances Banks Le Fe- Fe I Fe-I vre She was married there to M M. 1 I I M. M Steele in for m many ny nyI years they lived in that section of Utah In 1912 Mr i and Mrs Steele moved to Delta when the project here was new and they farmed for years on their property near erland Some years ago they moved moved moved ed into Delta to make their home and after Mr Ir Steeles Steele's death three years ago Mrs Steele remained here Mrs Steele had two sons Doyle and Harold in World War Var I. I Mrs Steele was an active worker work work- er in the L L. L D. D S. S church and was president of the Relief Society of Sutherland ward for many years She was a member of oC the Daughters Daugh Daugh- of Utah Pioneers and was the Captain of the first camp organized ed in Delta many years ago and president of the Helen Marr McCullough McCullough Mc Me Cullough camp for or two terms Mrs Steeles Steele's first interests were centered center center- ed in her home and she was a devoted devoted devoted de de- de- de voted wife and mother and her hermany hermany hermany many friends here deeply appreciated appreciated appreciated her as a good friend and neighbor Mrs Steele was the mother of 12 children of whom 9 survive her Mrs Fern Henrie of Panguitch Mrs Abbie Abble Prestwich and Doyle L. L Steele of Delta Mrs Prows Kanosh Mrs Lila Judd of Provo Arthello M. M Steele Lovelock Lovelock Lovelock Love Love- lock Nevada Mrs Irene Rawlinson of Hinckley Mrs Wanda Vanda Cox Cedar Cedar Cedar Ce Ce- dar City and Mrs Itha Ahlstrom Modena Utah There are forty forty- eight grandchildren twenty one gt grandchildren and one gt gt grandchild The services Monday were conducted conducted conducted con con- ducted by Bishop A. A E. E Stephenson and other speakers were Bishop George Jackson of Sutherland and Jamees Steele and John Steele Stee of Delta who paid tribute to Mrs Steele and her fine qualities Musical Musical Musical Mus Mus- ical numbers were given by the Singing Mothers and James and Glen Rawlinson Interment was in inthe inthe inthe the Delta cemetery and the grave was dedicated by Arthur Bunker |
