Show Old Folks Party Last Friday April 11 the Old Folks Folk 65 and over were the guests of the Delta wards in the first ward meetIng meeting meeting meet- meet Ing house Transportation was provided pro pro- L I vided and they were brought in for Cor dinner at noon A nice program was arranged with numbers tap dancing reading read read- ing and songs Two cutely dressed little girls Misses Cherie Hannifin and Bonie Black mack gave an old fashioned fashion fashion- ed song and an encore was demanded demand demand- ed of them to which they Roy Dresser sang Mary and John and was encored Mrs Law played on the piano Mrs Eliza Hook ty-seven ty bol in an even dozen dozen dozen doz doz- en to the amusement of all Mrs Ann E. E Bishop 84 was the old- old eest woman present and Mr H H. B B. Lake 87 the oldest man Mrs Margaret Margaret Margaret Mar Mar- garet C. C Callister had been a D. D U. U P. P for forty years George Boyack acted as toastmaster with witty and apt in introductions in- in Mrs Henderson gave a talk to the pioneers and Bishop A. A E E. Stephenson gave the address of wel wel- come The weather was inclement which kept a number of the elderly persons at home but notwithstanding there was a nice crowd and the dinner served served served ed b by the ladies was most excellent A free picture show was the further entertainment for the old folks folks for which many remained The honor shown the old folks was very pleasing and very fitting A number of the elderly persons asked us to thank all who aided in the affair and especially to thank the ladles who cooked and served the dinner I |
