Show A BOOK REVIEW OF OF- OF TALES YOU WONT BELIEVE I just had the pleasure of reading the book Tales You Wont Vont Believe by Gene Stratton Found It nicely written informative and carrying one with her in her bobby hobby hobby hob bob by of birds moths and flowers She writes with a fine flow of language language language lan lan- guage sincerely written telling of oi her own intimate experiences which in some instances are arc bordering on Tales You Wont Vont Believe until you catch the convincing fact of her own conviction Where others would be prosaic she bursts into bea beautiful beautiful statements of ot richness Her close study of the topics she writes about shows a life devoted to her hobby The Fire Bird and its connection with the Indian tale of how the many birds tried to carry fire to man failing failing fail fail- ing until this bird despite burns actually actually actually ac ac- ac- ac does docs carry fire to man but by fire is so burned that it carries the red fire-red beak and face of those many burns all for Cor the sake of man It is good reading A nice chapter The articles on moths are exceptionally exceptionally exceptionally good The tale of the dog who saves his life when a rattler is driven driven driven en within three feet of the mans man's head as he lies asleep is well written and the climax Sino I wont kick you any more fitly closes it The Song of the Cardinal spoken of by her so feelingly must be a rare treat for a bird lover What she gives es of it in extract much |
