Show Ait Navigation i 1 Is Study Course First Lt. Shirley E. Bishop of Delta, Del-ta, Utah has recently begun an extensive refresher course in navi-) gation at Ellington Air Force Base near Houston, Texas . The Air Force Officer is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray S. Bishop of Delta. At Ellington Air Force Base home ol the USAF Navigation School, Lt. Bishop will be instructed in the many phases of aerial navigation including, celestial, dead-reckoning pilotage and electronic. The latter will be stressed because of its importance im-portance in navigating the fast modern aircraft. Originally entering the servics in March 1943 he received his commission com-mission in March of 1944. He was ! recalled to active duty in July of this year. During World War II, he served with the 20th Air Force and holds the Air Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Asiatic-Pacific Theatre ribbon with two starts, Unit Citation arid has flown five missions. A graduate of Delta high school in Delta, he received his BS degree from USAC in Logan. His wife and two young daughters daugh-ters are in Brigham City at present, pres-ent, visiting Mrs. Bishops father there . They will join Lt. Bishop within several weeks when he is returned to San Antonio, Texas. |
