Mr. and Mrs. Alic Adams and Cameron Adams are visitors at the State Fair this week, and will at-tend the program Thursday night when Miss Marl ha Adams gradu-ated from the LDS nurses school. Is Graduated In Nursing " 'jiilss Martha Marie Adams (laugh (er of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Adams, 0f Delta will be among the 20 LDS hospital student nurses who vvill be graduated at ceremonies Thursday night. She will receive her pin and diploma, during the program at 8 p. m. in Kingsbury Hall, on the U campus. Miss Mil-dred' Wood, director of nursing at the hospital will award the pins. Diplomas will be awarded by Le Grand Richards, presiding bishop, LDS church and president of the hospital's board of trustees. Missionary Is Old friends got together in a party last Thursday night to honor Homer Christensen, recently return ed from the Hawaiian mission. His mother, Mrs. Leah B. Christensen was also a guest. The party was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton McCullough. There were fLV hiHJ- P60ple Psent. Homer mission from the old Third ward, and it was this group who welcomed him back at this party. z The evening was spent playing games and seeing pictures Homer had taken in the mission field. Kefreshments were served. and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Vest and Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Nielson here. Mrs. Morse being the former Dawn Roper. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Banks and little Rex Abegglin went to Milford Saturday and visited Freddie Mil-ler ,who is now attending school. Mx and Mrs. Willie Lovell are sporting around in a new Che.volet car. The first frost of the season hit us Saturday night. Most of the alfalfa seed in this area is still standing, but we hope it was not damaged too much, and also hope we don't have any more frost for a while. Mrs. Margie Walker arrived from Pocatello to spend a few days at che Earl Greathouse home and to visit her relatives at Leamington. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Mills drove to ?rovo Monday to take Mr. Grant .'or medical aid. Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Ropr )f Powell, Wyo., called on Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Roper before go-ng to Oak City to see TJiurnian's larents Mr, and Mrs. Bert Roper. Mi', and Mrs. Roy Clark drove town to get their furniture Satur-day. Mr. and Mrs. Glade Roundy rush ed their little son, Hugh, to Salt Lake City where he underwent a surgical operation. He is reported as recovering nicely. Mr. and Mrs. Reeve Richardson of Nephi called on Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Freer for a short visit Wed-nesday. The Lynndyl Garden Club held their regular monthly meeting , Wednesday. The Delta club furnish ed the program. Mrs. Louise Ly-man led a discussion on helpful hints about the home and also discussed landscaping. 20 ladies were present. Refreshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Larsen drove down from Provo bringing Mrs. Josephine Sudbury and Miss Nona Bryant ,for a visit with Mrs. Jerry Nielson and family. Mrs. Mary Johnson, Mrs. Edith Lovell.TvIrs. Mamie Pargis and Mis Clorean Johnson attended the fun eral at Spanish. Fork for Grant Christensen husband of Donna Ivie Christenson. The Erving Nielson family also were' there. Old friends of Hurbert Smith were shockekd to hear of his sud den death in Salt, Lake The Smith family were residents of our town for years. Our sym-pathy goes out to the family. Mrs. Jean Jeffers of San Berni-deo- n Calif., is here visiting her many friends. Miss Gladys Banks and Miss Denece Greathouse drove to Salt Lake for a few days of shopjng and visiting Mr. and Mrs. Kent Larsen. Kent has been in the hos-pital and Gladys and Denice both gave blood in his behalf. Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Ivie, Vernal and Harold drove down from Provo Saturday and spent the day visit-ing their friends They were din-ner guests at the Irving Nielson home. Mr. Vernon Roper who is work-ing at Milford was home for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mc Cardel, Jimmie, Bobbie and Mrs. Mary Fre er drove to Salt Lake Sunday to visit the state fair and to see "Holiday on Ice". Miss Clorean Johnson who has been home with her parents,- - Mr. and Mrs. Hil Johnson, returned to her work in Los Angeles ' Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Nielson and Mr. and Mrs. Grant Snow and fam ilies visited Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. LaVar Dutson. Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Nielson have moved to Ephriam where Mr. Nielson will attend the Snow college. They with Mr. and Mrs. Merrit Nielson and Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Nielson spent a few days at Fish Lake. Bob Pendray who has been wor-king in Cedar City all summer, is home on his vacation. He is driv-ing a new Pontiac car. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Judd of Delta, spent the afternoon visiting at the J. A. Banks home. Mrs. Barbara Anderson of Black Rock is home with her parents, Mr and Mrs . Lovell Wilkins for a week. Mrs. Ruth Bowers is our new Fall Wedding Vows Fxelianged Against a background of fall flowers, Miss Gloria Stewart a dau ghter of Mrs. D. E. Nichols of Oasis and Raymond Martin son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin of Cedar City, ex-changed wedding vows late Satur-day afternoon Sept. 17, at the home of the brides parents. The ceremony was performed by Bp. Peter H. Peterson. The' bride wore an afternoon gown of blue, and a corsage of white rose buds,. She was attended by her sister, Miss Elaine Stewart. William Martin, brother of the bride groom stood as best man for Mr. Martin. Following the ceremony a din-ner was served. The young couple will make their home in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Sandberj and son, William, of Washington, Utah, spent the past weekend vis-iting in Delta with Mrs. Sandberg's sister, Mrs. John Peterson. Mr. and Mrs. Alden Brunson spent Sunday in. Spanish Fork, with Mr. Brunson's father, who is ill. Mr. and Mrs. Emil Pearson drove to Spanish Fork Sunday taking Pearson, back after a visit here. She took the bus from there to Salt Lake City, where she is em ployed at the Capitol. Mr. and Mrs. Orlan Hunsaker and sons, Victor and Terry, were out of town from Saturday to Mon day night. Mr. Hunsaker made a business trip to Brigham City, and Mrs. Hunsaker and the boys attended the lee Follies in Salt Lake Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Sanford went to Salt Lake City Monday and Mrs. Sanford entered the LDS hospital Tuesday for major sur-gery. A Tellurifle Power Company Message Lt. M. David Baker was relased from the air lift service in Germ-any on Aug. 20, after having made 58 missions 'into Berlin. He piloted a C54 across leaving Hamberg, Germany Sept. 11, spen-ding a night at the Azons and ar-riving at Westover field, Mass on the 13. He drove from there to to Delta arriving last Saturday evening. Monday he drove to Sac-ramento to join his family for a visit after which he will fly to Denver, for Oak City MAE H. SHIPLEY Sunday evening at sacrament meeting a large audience listened to Mr. and Mrs. Owen Lovell and family giving a report about their visit to Canada and attending a conference with their son Ralph, who is laboring in the Canadain mission field. The opening program of the MIA was held Tuesday evening with a good program, and water melons as a refreshment. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Whatcott and son Phil, spent a few days visiting in Oak City. Misses Verna Mae and Geniel Shipley, and Miss Elaine Sheriff returned from a very pleasant vis-it in California enjoying bathing at the beach also many other . They spent eight days on this vacation. Verna Mae and Geniel were guests of the Deseret News vacation trip. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Olson from Brigham visited a few days,. Miss Verna Christensen was also a visit or with her parents and friends. Miss Christensen has employment at Brigham City. Mr. and Mrs. James Olson visit-ed in Oak City . Mr. and Mrs. Elden Anderson, Mr. Arthur Olson and little son visited in Beaver a few days. Those who visited in Salt Lake this week were Mr. and Mrs. Peter Nielson, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Niel-son and son Lynn also Mrs. AHa Alldredge and daughter. Mrs. Catherine Moulton from Heber City visited her mother at the week end. Mrs. Aretta Patterson, Mrs. Walt Patterson, and Mrs. Vera Poulson and Mrs. Myrtle Lovell attended the wedding of their niece at Bureka Saturday evening..
