OCR Text	Show Two-Faced Janus The name January is derived de-rived from the two-faced god, January. In mythology he was originally origi-nally the god of light and day, but he gradually became regarded re-garded as the god of the beginning begin-ning of things. The beginning of the year was sacred to Janus and a festival in bis boner, called Aginla, was celebrated. At the beginning of any important undertaking his advice and assistance were sougiit.
