Beth Willden, who had been in Salt Lake since school was out, returned home with her mother. Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Turner had their children from out of town home for a visit last week, and to attend- the wedding reception for their brother, and bride, Wayne and Myrlene Moody Turner, in Hinckley, June 14. They were Miss Ruby Turner, from Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Snow, from St. George, and Mr. and Mrs. Thirl Stanworth, from Rodeo, California. Mr and Mrs Stanworth also visit-ed his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Stanworth during the week. Four moves were made last week, and four pieces of property changed hands, when Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Turner, of Sutherland, moved into Delta. Their farm at Suther-- ) land is now occupied by Mr. and, ' Mrs. Wayne Turner, and Mr. and Mrs. Turner, and Jack, Ray and Helen, now live in Delta in the for-mer Reed Turner home. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Turner have moved into ' the former Floyd Moody home in Delta, and Mr. and Mrs Moody have moved to Hinckley on the farm they bought, the former Neely property. Mr. and Mrs. have 'Carl Townsend returned from two spent vacationing in Los Angeles' and several days at Lake Arow- - Mr and Mrs. Pat Kelly, and daughter Patricia, from Boise, Ida- ho, spent Saturday and Sunday vis-.un- g m Delta and Oasis. Other Broadway and Hollywood itas shaie honors with Miss Page. lorry Mixers I)o Cooking The Merry Mixers, 2nd year 4-- cooking club, met Friday afternon at the home of Lois Iverson, with their leader, Mrs. Callie Morley. They learned to cook custards and puddings that dav, and at their next meeting, Friday, July 2, will meet at Mrs. Morley's, and learn to bottle cherries. Present were Gloria Black, Cherie Bishop, Sheila Maxfield, and Lois Iverson, and new members joining that day were Virginia Allen and Merle Or- - ton. Corrections On Iteliekalis A few errors crept into our col-umns last week, greatly to the sur-prise of the staff. We refer partic-ularly to the item about the new officers and new 'members. The item was two para-graphs long, mentioning eight names. Well, we got five of the names right, whittling down our batting average some. Corrections are; Thera Davis, vice-gran- not Thera Little, as 'printed. Among the new members initiated were Bernard Munster and June Hinckley, not Mrs. M. and Mrs. H., as printed. How these things happen to us we never know. ! Delta Art Club Has Meeting Members of the Delta Art Club held a no hostess party Thursday - night, at the home of Nell Callister. 'Present were Callie Morrison, Cal-lie Morley, Athena Cook, Wanda Pace, Liz Pace, Verna Walch, Am- - elia Cole, Donna Sorenson, Roman-ia Bird, club members, each with a covered dish for the dinner, and guests, Stella Ashby and Merline ' Callister. After dinner a short business ses-sion was held, and new club for next year are Vio-let Snow, president, Nell Callister, vice- - president, and Donna Soren-son, secretary. Bridge' was played later, at which high scores were held by Liz Pace, Athena Cook and Donna Sorenson. Post 89 3Ieets Friday, July 6 The regular July meeting of the Arthur L. Cahoon Post No. 89, Legion, will be held July 6, at the club house. All members are urged to attend. Serve Dinner In Oak Creek. Dinner was served early in the evening at the picnic grounds,- and a social hour was spent later. The girls are interested in the art of cooking, under the direction of their leader, Verna Mae Shipley. An excellent loaf of bread was baked at this meeting. Those present were Afton Roper, Margene Anderson and Shirley Anderson.. Their next meeting will be at the home of Margene And- - erson. Mrs. T. C. Gronning left Delta Tuesday for Salt Lake City, where she will visit her sister, Mrs. Hazel Steinbock, for two days. Thursday Mr. Gronning will join her, and they will leave for San Francisco for a visit of several weeks with their daughter, Mrs. Esther Lauber. They also intend to visit Mrs. Gronnings's sisters, Mrs. Lottie Rose and Mrs. Louise Kallas, at before returning to Delta. - Merry Sewers Have Meeting The Merry Sewers met Wed-nesday, June 23, 1948. We made hotpads. Members are Dorothy Barkdall, Arlene Ross, Louise Fors-te- r, Raelene Wood, Audrey Wood-bury and Hilda Peterson. Their meeting was from 4 00 p. m. to 5:45 Mr. and Mrs. 'R. V. Taggart, and their mother, Mrs. W. H. Pace, and niece, Miss, Kathryn. Lou Pa.ce, re-turned to Delta Monday after spending several weeks in Los Angeles and Long' Beach. C. L. Draper, who has been with the Indian Service in New Mex-ico, returned to Delta this week. He has been with the Indian ser-'vi-for several years, at Ibapah, Make GOO Mile Washington and New Mexico. Weekend Tour Mr. and Mrs. Roy Thornton, Mr. and Mrs. Leoyd Lovell, and Mr. and Mrs Robert Riding, left Delta Sat-urday afternoon, for Zions Canyon. They camped at the mouth of Zions Saturday night. The next day was spent hiking to all points of interest in the canyon. From there they went on to Bryce Canyon, and on over to Fish Lake, where they made a short stop over. From there they drove to Johnson's Reservoir, down Seven Mile, through Salina canyon and on home Sunday night. Is Hostess To Country Club Mrs. Verna Shepherd was host-ess to the Country Club at their meeting on Monday night, for din-ner and bridge. Present were Bar-bara Spendlove, Mary Wright, Nell Callister, Neva Robinson and Lu-cille Stapley, guests, and Lois Hin-ckley, Rayda Knight, Dorothy Steele, June Reid, Lois Maxfield, La Preal Mortensen, Dora Munster, Eleanor Roberts, Vi Mortensen, Ann Hales and Beulah Bassett, club members High scores at cards were held by Mrs. Callister, Mrs. Hinck-ley and Mrs. Knight, while Mrs. Steele held low score. The afternoon was spent sewing, after which refreshments were served. Those present were: Cora Alldredge, Kalae Knight, Hel-en Miller, Wanda Lee, and Merna Turner. Mrs. Ethel Baker, of Fillmore, came to Delta Sunday for a visit until Friday with her daughter, Mrs Golden H. Black. Friday she will go to Nephi with her son, Cecil Bak-er, and join a sister, Mrs. Jennie De Mille, and they will go on to Salt Lake City for the 40th wedding an-niversary party of their brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Petty. Cuisine Bonne 4-- H Meets The Cuisine Bonne 4-- club met June 24 at the home of their as-sistant leader, Thelma Black, for a demonstration of fruit salads, given by Mrs. Black and Dorothy Black. Present were Carol Sorenson, Muriel Gardner, Dorothy, Black Zola Wright, Thelma Black, and a guest, Bonnie Black. Next meeting will be at Carol Sorenson's July 1st. Honienaakers 4-- H Club Meets The Happy Homemakers of Sutherland held their fifth meeting Monday, June 28, at the home of their teacher, Mrs. Sanford, at 3 p. m. Their lesson was on furniture arrangement. It was given by Ju-le-and Leu Wanna Bunker. Pres-ent were Julene Bunker, Leu Wan-na Bunker, Dorothy Talbot, Virgin-ia Henrie, Cheryl Ogden, Janet San-ford, Eleanor Deem and their tea-cher, Mrs. Sanford. Refreshments were served. Their next meeting will be Wednesday, June 7, at 3 p. m. Tbe 3 C's 4-- H Club 3Ieets The 3 C's second year cooking 4-- club held their meeting Thurs-day, June 24, at the home of Con-nie Perkins. Refreshments were served to members, Bonnie Riding, Dorothy Morris, Connie Rae Prisley, Connie Perkins,. Geraldihe Evans and leaders, Norma Jean Law and Shirlene Steele.
