Irish uaekman of Ma-co- Billy Kane, an Mo was on the tanJ In a per-sonal Injury case. A man was ralng the railroad, claiming he was hit through the negligence of the engine man It was In evidence that three boys were standing on the edge of the platform as the train came In. The lawver for the railroad was g Mr. Kane pretty severely, and the sharper he became the more exas-perating seemed the witness' answers. Finally he demanded the witness tell him the exact position of those boys. "Well, lr," replied Mr. Kane smoothly, "their backs was the east." Fish Mal. Experiments with fish meal as a food for domestic anlmala have been made abroad, and It has been found that pigs and cattle eat It with relish. In Norway the meal 1 made from cod and herring. The codfish are dried first In the air and then In an oven, and afterward ground Into meal. They make a highly nutritious food. Her-ring are boiled and placed under pres-sure before being ground. In England and Scotland fish meal Is made from the waste parts of all kinds of fish, first steamed and then dried and ground. This meal usually contains from 65 to 65 per cent of albuminoids, 8 to 6 per cent of fats and 14 to 18 per cent of calcium phos-phate. Published every Saturday at Bingham Canyon, Utah George Reynolds, Editor and Publisher Bonrgard Building, Main St. Bingham Phone 91 ture for this wonderful canyon and the whole of the southern part of the State. We are be-ginning to realize something of our predictions. A friend of ours who was present after viewing the scene with meditative eyes remarked, "A moneyed man may think he is everything but it takes a God to make things like that." Real riches are not matters of the Stock Exchange, money has a place in our every-da- y existence and a big one too, but real riches .are not bank accounts. Men of the dollar-craz- e go back to nature, she comforts, cheers and blesses ' tired souls who turn to her for rest. When you go out on your next vaca-tion take in the sights of the wonderful canyons in the south-ern part of the State and un-less you have a heart of stone the beauty, majesty and solem-nity of the scene should make you feel how little a mere man is with all his banking assets. Editorial DO UTAIINS REALIZE? Do Utahns know their State? This is a question that may be reasonably asked, and we reply, No. How many people are there in this State that have never visited this camp and viewed the greatest copper mine - in the world, where thousands of tons of ore are being mined and shipped weekly. We may also ask the question relative to the scenic wonders of our state. Most of us are too close to appreciate their attractive-ness. If you want massive grandeur why go to Europe when you have Bryce Canyon practically within a stone's throw, where there is no ques-tion about nature's fuirness. This tumbling mass and far-reachi- ng landscape talks in terms of might and majesty, some years ago we visited this beauty wonder spot of the State and predicted a great fu-- i Causs for Worry. A Sunday school teacher was telling the children of her class about the miracle of Christ changing the water Into wine at the marriage feast of Cana. One little fellow Jumped to the floor, saying: "Oh, that's nothing; my dad made some wine and then changed It Into vinegar." Now dad's worried for fear the boy will get him In bad. Searching Ocean's Dspths. The latest Invention in nautical de-vices now In use on a pilot boat Is a machine which throws a beam of light to the sea bottom allowing the depth of the water below the ahlp to be gauged. Soundings may thus be done away with. The Invention may be use-fully employed by the big liners In en-tering shallow water. The searchlight Is worked through a hole In the lower part of the ship, while an observa-tion window is placed nearby through which the beam of light my be seen. A mirror Is set at the end of a long observation tube running vertically through the ship to the bridge. I The Eyes of Animals. No two animals have eyes exactly alike. The eyes of flesh-eatin- g crea-tures are closer together than those of vegetarians. Human eyes are closer together than those of creatures that eat fish. Animals that live on grass have large eyes. Job fer --Msn." Freddie was much elated at the thought ef going downtown to buy bis first cloth suit But he looked du-biously at his mother, who was pre-paring te ge with him.
