Show M ti l"i A MATTER OF HONOR Senator Edwin F. Ladd of North Dakota Da-kota is opposed to any further delay in the payment of interest by foreign governments gov-ernments on the debts they owe the United Un-ited States" Treasury. Whatever arrangements arrange-ments "may be made Tor the funding of the principal of those debtg over a period of years, it should be specifically provided, provi-ded, in Mr. Ladd's opinion, that interest payments must be forthcoming on the dates when they are due. "This nation is deep ill 'debt," declares Senator Laddv "and the people are heavily taxed for the support of the Government. We loaned freely to the European governments, and the Americans have the right to expect that the intefe's will be promptly met by 'the borrower's,, just "as tye.'aife obliged to meet our own te'rest obligations." m E. fe |
