Show WILD HORSES ARE PESTS Farmers In Northern Washington Kept In Constant Fear of Raids. Wild horses arc giving the farmers living near the Canadian border of Washington much trouble. Tho animals ani-mals tear down fences and often chase large herds of cattle. The farmers have started a war of extermination. Domestic horses which mingle with the wild ones soon rovcrt to the outlaw out-law nature. Their home Is In a faulty bad land region between the Cascade and Bocky Mountains. A sleek black stallion, carrying an unusually long silky mane and massive toll, Is known to hnvo In his "harem" nearly 300 mares of all ages and colors. Ho carefully guards them from other herds, nnd at the slightest alarm stampedes and leads them at great speed to the distant hills. |
