Show BENS0NN0TES Benson Jan. 3 Last Friday evening ev-ening a farewell parly consisting of a program of songs, recitations, speeches and music and a dance, waa given la tho Benson meeting house In honor of Cyril Munk and Leroy Ballard Bal-lard who leave shortly for the mis-slob mis-slob field. A purse ot 1147 was raised and presented to these young men as an evidence of good will toward to-ward them and the cause they go to promulgate. The evening was most pleasantly spent by ono of tho largest larg-est gatherings- we have had In our ' ward for a long tlmo. A good many of whom came as visitors from oUt-sldo oUt-sldo settlements. The Bonaon- orchestra or-chestra furnished the music which was flneand tho young men of tho company aro deserving of praise for their services. Tho Benson poopto onjoyed themselves them-selves during tho holldajs and wo trust that wo will soon have some freezing weather so that the largo piles of sugar beets may be speedily moved to the factory. An oxtenslon ot tho electric road from Amalga through the sugar beet section In Benson Is greatly needed. Much of tho grading for this road has been done as It was tho Intention of tho Amalgamated Sugar company to make this road a fow years ago. Tho wdrk that has been dono on our roada du ring tho past summer Is much appreciated by tho traveling I public and It Is to bo hoped that tho I now county commissioners will carry I out tho work so well commenced. I Mr. E. A. Parson has recently hcea confined to his bed but Is now able I to be around again we are pleased to stato. I For some time there has been ba I our midst promoting a sugar 1a-tory 1a-tory to be erected In this vicinity la the near future. It la , to bo a mutual mu-tual affair the farmers owning stock, a portion of the money to ba paid down and the balance In notes. The money will be raised by selling thaw notes to erect tho plant.
