Show RELATES INTERESTING INTER-ESTING EXPERIENCE EXPERI-ENCE An Interesting artlclo in the Oct. lssuo of tho Asia Magazine about the rough waters of tho Paumontus has been written by Mr. Fredrick O'Brien Ho relates somo of his experiences on a schooner among the south sea islands, is-lands, principally tho Society Islands'. He was nearly swallowed up by a largo water spout and finally landed on tho island or Takarara. On this Island ho met a half brood native who bec&mo well acquainted with Jack London when he was cruising among the south sea islands on his sailing vessel, tho Snark. The half breed assisted In repairing the Snark and Jack London desired to tako him for his mechanic. This halt breed also became ono of tho leading characters In London's book entitled tho Fall of the Houso of Maphuti. Teamo, a well built native woman was also met by O'Brien and she with the half breed were a few of tho survivors surviv-ors of that terrlblo oclono which swept tho Island several years ago of much llfo and property. Teamo nnd her experiences became much material mater-ial around which London built his story. While on this Island O'Brien met two Mormon missionaries who wero Elder Westover of Logan and Elder Delang from southorn Utah.
