K Superintendent Oldham, as wo H called him, has been HI for several H months, In fact from the tlmo ho con-r con-r tracted a severe case of lagrlppo last i winter he has not been well. This ; illness settled In his muscles and for' a tlmo he has found It difficult i to breathe. The Immediate cause of I his death was compllcaalons affect ing tho muscles. Ho has been 111 for more than nine months. ! Superintendent Oldham was born i in Bury, Lancashire, England, and was 69 years of age last March. Ho , emigrated to America In 18G3 and came direct tot Cache valley. He first settled In Wellsviilo and then t went, to Paradise. In the little village vil-lage of Pafadlse, where he served so many years as bishop, ho has en- feared himself In tho affections of - tho people. Not only In rnradlse ' was he honored and respected, but throughout the county where ho ", served so many years as suporlnten-i suporlnten-i dent of schools. In the balls of tho legislature also his talents were used for tho advancement of tho state ' and benefit of tho people. ! Ho was a man of high ' character, of unimpeachable integri-' integri-' ty, one whose name will be honored i and revered troughout tho present generation for the great good that he ; has done. Dr. E. P. Oldham of this city, son of tho former superintendent, says that the funeral will be held at Par-(' Par-(' ndlso Wednesday at 2 o'clock whero , all his friends and associates may assemble to pay their final tribute. |
