Show H l&Sil THE U. OF U. PRESIDENCY H 'aSS'v The matter of a president for, the Uni- 1 I U&& versity of Utah is still the head liner at Hi UIV.. , Lake City, and Hon. W. W. Ray, H fc'sjKJ mn. Frank Evans and others are racing H F 7 v-swoss the continent, sending money on the wires, and loading down the mail carriers car-riers searching and looking for some carpet car-pet bagger to honor with the highest educational ed-ucational position in the state. Some of the names suggested taken with degrees printed after their names, sound very well, but we venture the fact that if these educators were of the class they ought to be in order to measure up to the presidency of-"the University, they would be safely esconsed in good positions posi-tions in their own states, or very close to home. ; If the Regents really want to do the state a service' they will get down to real business, take a thoroughly trained, competent, com-petent, tried and tine educator like- Dr. George Thomas, elect him president and say "Now Doctor the reins are in your hands." Such a course would meet the general approval of the people and mean much to the University of Utah. |
