Llttlo Josephine waa the eldest child of foimcr Mayor Hoy llullec. and Annie Ntbley Bullcn and was seven yoars old on the 20th o! last October. The death or this little flower Is a most crushing blow to her dls tracted mother and dovoted father, as well as her wide circle of lela-tives lela-tives and friends, who were stunnel almost beyond oppression at her sudden sud-den death. The pride of her fond mother's heart, the dream of "her fathers hopes and the Joy of her little lit-tle brothers she leaves behind, sho was plucked from life to death almost In the twinkling of an eye, while all those arouiid her bedside sloctl speechless In wondei and amazemct.t This Is one of those distinct cases that Is beyond the power of mortals to understand. 4 She was physically perfect. She. was fair, dainty, beau tlful, Just a little "flowiot gay", a "dear token of the earth, where God was once a child." She was taken by the "Ileaper" who "reaps the bearded grain at a breath and the flowers that grow between,' and "it was 'or the Lord of Paradise, He bound her in his sheaves." It Is some distinction to brlns o earth such a child; It Is some blessing bles-sing to make such a sacrifice without with-out murmur, and to sa O, not in cruelty, not In wrath, iThe Reaper came that day; 'Twas an angel visited the green earth, And took your flower away. |
