Ecclcs of this city was Saturday Sat-urday elected to the presidency of the First National bank of Ogden, and the Ogden Savings bank, succeeding suc-ceeding M. S. Browning whose resignation resig-nation was accepted Friday by ths board ot directors. Mr. Eccles has recently acquired a controlling Inter est In the bank. Mr. Ecclcs will havo associated with him as managing vie president, O. W. Adams, cashier of Thatrher Brothers Banking company ot Logan, who will shorty move to Ogden to take up his new duties. The new president of the two Ogden banks Is a son ot the late David Eccles, a former for-mer president of the Institutions, and Is widely known In financial circles cir-cles ot the west' through his large Interests. Among his present activities Mr. Eccles Is vico president c-J a member mem-ber ot the executive committee , of Thatcher Brothers Banking company, president of the Hyrum gtato bank, vice president ot tho Stato Bank ot Richmond and Is an oOlcor In several sev-eral other banking Institutions. In a broader field he Is general manager man-ager of the? Eccles Investment ccm-pany ccm-pany of Logan which has extensive comcrorclal and Industrial Interests In Utah and Idaho, and is also president presi-dent ot the Eccles Hotel Company, which owns and operates a number of hotels In tho two states. The young banker also Is president of tho Utah Condensed Milk Company, which oporatos fcatoilcs In Utah, Idaho .and California, and Is a director direc-tor of the Amalgamated Sugar company, com-pany, the Utah Idaho Central Railroad Rail-road company and other corporations. corpora-tions. Mr. Adams, tho now vice president presi-dent received his early commercial tiainlng in tho school of commerco of the Utah Agricultural Collcgo and has been engaged In banking for the pa3t eighteen years. For eight years ho was with tho First National bank at Logan, which Institution ho left Ho becorao-cashler of the Hyrum Stato Bank. Mr. Adams then went to Liverpool, England, as secretary of tho European mission of tho L. D.
