A special mooting was held at the Chamber of Commerce where a numbor of good talks wero given, nil favoring clean and bolter baseball. Vlco President W. R. Sloan acted as chairman ot the meeting. meet-ing. Mayor Francis ot Ogden, Mayor Peters of Drlgham Ctly and Commissioner Commis-sioner J. A. Crocket ot Logan all spoko in favor of promoting clean baseball and each pledged to do all ho could to provldo tills, tho most wholesomo recreation for tho public. The visitors proposed that three good teams bo mado up ot tho Wasatch Wa-satch leaguo and threo bo mado up ot tho Cacho Valley leaguo and that anew leaguo bo formed and that we go Into organized baseball ot the D class. By such an organization, tho board of governors woud have power pow-er to carry out tho rules and regulations regula-tions and fines and suspensions and the necessary discipline be .given to the players or club management. Chairman W. R. Sloan In speaking for the local athletic committee stated stat-ed that at the present time wo were in no position to say what wo wanted and furthermore wo could not speak for any of the other clubs of the( valley. Mr. Sloan further statcd'that a meeting of all the clubs of tho Cacho Valley league would have to be called together nnd ascertain ascer-tain what their desires were. Logan Lo-gan would stand by what the majority major-ity of the clubs desired to do. In the event that some of the elubs In the Cache Valley league cannot see their way clear to go through the season and carry on a fair grade of baseball, we would then be open for the proposition suggested by the visitors vis-itors and it would bo perhaps hotter hot-ter to havo tho fronier six clubs or tho Cache Valley leaguo form together to-gether threo strong teams to go in tho now leaguo with thieo strong teams In tho other valloy. From the sentiments senti-ments expressed thcro Is one thing certain that the largo salaries paid last year, especially to imported players, will not provall tho next season. With such an organiation, ono club will not bo bidding against another, thoro will be a Balary limit and other rules and regulations can bo adopted which will put all tho teams on a fairly evon basis. Tho Tremonton Garland team will havo a fighting chanco with tho other teams In tho larger towns. It was decided that tho Cacho Valley Val-ley League clubs meet within a short time and ascertain what they desired desir-ed to do for next season. In the uvont that It is not practicable to cairy on tho Cacho Valley leaguo for next season, a special jnectlns of representatives of the Wasatch and Cacho Valloy leagues will be held at the Dox Elder Commercial club at Brlgham City November 26th at 4 H p. m. for tho purpose of forming a H now league.
